Derek Lemkin's transactional and litigation practice focuses on intellectual property and entertainment matters.
Mr. Lemkin handles a broad range of entertainment and media transactions and has significant experience in music licensing and publishing and film production, financing and distribution. Mr. Lemkin represents writers, directors, producers, actors, musicians and athletes.
Mr. Lemkin also counsels entrepreneurs and privately owned businesses in a wide range of matters including intellectual property, trademark, financing, employment, mergers and acquisitions, and business organization.
In litigation, Mr. Lemkin has substantial trial and arbitration experience. He handles a wide range of IP, entertainment and commercial disputes involving copyright, trademark, trade secrets, Internet domains, rights of privacy and publicity, licensing and contract claims.
Mr. Lemkin earned his juris doctorate at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles where he served as Chief Research Editor of the Entertainment Law Review. Mr. Lemkin obtained his bachelor's degree from Brown University in 1999.
